Here is Val Bighera, a natural valley which appears almost enchanted and can be reached from Val Grande as its tributary to the right comes from the Mortirolo Pass. At its highest point there is a vast basin and, in its numerous terraces, we can find the ‘Serati’ lakes: a good 17 small Alpine lakes of different shapes and sizes. No place in the province of Brescia, and very few in the Alps, can boast this wealth of Alpine lakes and so it would be a pity to miss them. Finding all of them is truly difficult, though not entirely impossible! It could become a challenge to yourselves and to your ability both as walkers and, at the same time, as astute investigators.
